CBT

As per Traffic (Compulsory Basic Training) Regulations 2025, entities are able to apply to the Chief Examiner to be a certified CBT Instructor, allowing them to deliver the CBT course and issue CBT certificates upon successfully completion of the course.

To be considered, an expression of interest should be sent to mt@gibraltar.gov.gi providing evidence that the applicant meets the following requirements;

  1. They are a fit and proper person to be an instructor;
  2. They hold a full licence authorising the driving of vehicles in category A
  3. They are at least 24 years of age and has held that licence for a period of, or periods amounting in aggregate to, not less than four years'
  4. can produce evidence that they have completed or making arrangements for the relevant safeguarding courses and have an up to date vetting.

Upon successful application, onboarding training and facilities inspection will be arranged between DVLD staff and the certified instructor.

A register of certified CBT instructors will be published on the Gibraltar website for the public.

CBT

The Ministry of Transport would like to invite entities to express an interest in becoming a certified CBT instructor.

The certified instructor would work independently to DVLD and offer the service as a private entity.
