No.6 Convent Place

Number 6 Convent Place is the administrative headquarters of His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar. It is the official seat of the Office of the Chief Minister, and several key government departments and services are housed there.

The departments and services at No. 6 include:

  • Human Resources (public service staff matters, recruitment, policies, pay)

  • Public Finances (budget planning, revenue and expenditure oversight)

  • Procurement Office (procurement of goods and services across government)

  • Treasury Department and Savings Bank functions (including Gibraltar Savings Bank)

  • Technical Services Department

  • e-Government / eServices, dealing with digital government tools/online service platforms

In terms of function, No. 6 Convent Place is where major governance, budgetary, and administrative decisions are made. It also provides public-facing services such as Press Office, oversight functions for public finances, and central coordination for procurement and HR policy.

There is also the Convent Guard House, which now serves as the reception entrance for No. 6; this guard house is part of improving access, security and heritage appearance.
