Gibraltar’s young people took centre stage at the Youth Symposium, held on Tuesday 14th October 2025 at the John Macintosh Hall, where lively discussions covered everything from education and volunteering to politics and community safety.
Minister for Youth, The Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, led the occasion that brought together students, youth service participants and young volunteers from NGOs to share ideas on how to make Gibraltar a better place for young people.
Participants discussed issues that they felt were relevant to them, with Minister Santos pledging to explore all the different issues in collaboration with them.
There was also strong enthusiasm for a volunteers’ fair and youth debate in Parliament, giving young people a chance to make their voices heard and take an active role in civic life.
The symposium ended on a high note, with young attendees expressing optimism about the future and the Minister reaffirming his commitment to ensuring that youth perspectives remain at the heart of policy decisions.
Minister Santos said: “This generation has passion, creativity and courage and we want to make sure their ideas shape the Gibraltar of tomorrow.”
