Vacancy for Statistics Officer Level 5 (Chief Statistician) - Statistics Office

The Government of Gibraltar invites applications for the post of Statistics Officer Level 5 (Chief Statistician) in the Statistics Office from members of the public who hold the right of abode in Gibraltar (i.e. in possession of a Gibraltar red ID card).

Applicants must possess a degree in Statistics or Mathematics or an equivalent or higher qualification, or a degree in Economics or Business Studies or an equivalent or higher qualification.

The post is on contract terms for an initial period of three years.

The salary of the post ranges from £71,781 to £93,442 per annum.

Application forms along with a coloured copy of the ID card, copies of qualification certificates and reference letters should be submitted to the Department of Personnel & Development via email to recruitment@gibraltar.gov.gi by no later than Friday 6 February 2026.

Additionally, completed Royal Gibraltar Police vetting forms, copy of identification and proof of address, must be submitted with your application form by the closing date. For clarification on the RGP's requirements regarding acceptable documents, please refer to ‘Section 4 – Proof of Identity’ within the vetting form.

Furthermore, as part of the interview process, applicants will be required to deliver a ten-minute presentation on the following topic:

“Transformative Leadership: Guiding the Statistics Office to Excellence."
