Vacancy for GDC Grade 5 – Head of Operations
Gibraltar Financial Intelligence Unit
The Gibraltar Development Corporation invites applications for the post of GDC Grade 5 – Head of Operations at the Gibraltar Financial Intelligence Unit (GFIU). Applicants must, by virtue of their citizenship, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar, and are, or on employment will be, resident in Gibraltar.
Applicants must meet the essential requirements stated in the Job and Person Specification.
The post is permanent and carries the following salary scale: £51,954; £53,864; £56,480; £58,718; £59,871; £61,056; £62,260; £64,541.
Applicants are required to deliver a ten-minute presentation on the following topic:
"What does an effective risk-based approach to financial intelligence look like in a small jurisdiction and how would you implement one at the GFIU?"
The Head of Operations forms a critical part of the GFIU's senior leadership, providing the operational direction and management oversight necessary to deliver the unit's intelligence and analytical functions to the highest standard. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the way in which financial intelligence is gathered, processed, and disseminated within a dynamic and internationally engaged environment. As the GFIU continues to develop and expand its capabilities, the Head of Operations will play a pivotal role in leading the unit's day-to-day operations, driving continuous improvement across all desks, and ensuring that the unit's work remains aligned with both domestic priorities and international obligations, including those arising from FATF and MONEYVAL requirements.
