The Government of Gibraltar invites applications for the post of Firefighter in the Gibraltar Fire & Rescue Service.  Applicants must, by virtue of their citizenship, be entitled to take up employment in Gibraltar and are, or on employment will be, resident in Gibraltar.

2. Applicants must be in possession of the following:

• 5 GCSE or GCE ‘O’ Level passes at grades A, B, or C, 5 CSE grade 1, or 5 CEE grades 1, 2 or 3 or a combination of these, three of which must be English Language and Mathematics or

• A full GNVQ (intermediate), BTEC (intermediate) or BTEC (First Diploma), OCR National (Level II award), NVQ (Level II award) together with 3 GCSE or GCE ‘O’ Level passes at grades A, B or C, 3 CSE grade 1 or, 3 CEE grades 1, 2 or 3, or a combination of these, which must include English Language and Mathematics.

3. Applicants must also be in possession of a valid category ‘B’ driving licence.

4. Candidates must have unaided binocular vision. Candidates who have undergone refractive eye surgery must meet the criteria stated in the Statement of Particulars.

5. A Statement of Particulars containing full details of the salary payable, qualification and other requirements together with a Job and Person Specification can be obtained from the Human Resources Department at the address below and on the Government of Gibraltar website at www.gibraltar.gov.gi/new/press-releases.

6. Candidates will be required to attend a selection day at the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service, Grand Parade. It is envisage that the selection day will be held during the week commencing on 04 November 2019.
