The Ministry of Transport held its second meeting with the Gibraltar Bus Company (GBCL) working group yesterday at the end of the evening shift.
On this occasion it was held at the bus depot and was attended by over 40 GBCL employees. The Minister for Transport, Prof John Cortes, opened the meeting by explaining the objectives of the working group and praised them on the great service they provide.
The group were presented with new shift patterns, annual leave allocation and new clocking-in times based on requests and representations made to the Ministry and GBCL management by the personnel. These were very well received and new items for the agenda were raised for the next meeting, which will include suggestions made by the public to improve the bus service.
Minister for Transport, Prof John Cortes, said: “We can be justly proud of our Bus Service and of the men and women who work at GBCL for their dedication to providing an excellent service to the public. These meetings ensure that the staff themselves contribute directly to improving working conditions and bring in ideas for making our bus service better and better. I am really grateful to the staff for the great attendance so late in the evening and look forward to continuing working with them all for the benefit of the team and of our transport system”.
