The Young Artist Competition 2025 - 114/2025

The annual Competition for Young Artists, organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, is being held at the John Mackintosh Hall. This competitive exhibition is part of the annual Youth Arts Jamboree.

The Minister for Culture, The Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, officially opened the exhibition on Monday 24th February and presented the awards. 21 artists submitted a total of 43 artworks and 4 sculptures. This year’s adjudicator, Jenica Pizarro, carried out the judging.

The Prize winners are:

1st Prize - The Ministry of Culture Award for Overall Winner (£1000)

  • Stella Bosano – No.7 ‘Communicate’

2nd Prize - The AquaGib Award (£500)      

  • Julian Emanuel Gerada – No.21 ‘La Calle Real de Siempre’

The Kishin Alwani Foundation Award - School Years 9 to 11 (£500)

  • Oscar Dalmedo – No.18 ‘Fingers Like Curtains’

The Kishin Alwani Foundation Award - School Years 12 to 13 (£500)

  • Aimee Linares – No.27 ‘Torn Innocence’

The Arts Society Sculpture Award (£500)

  • Sarah Cavilla Latin – No.16 ‘The Lamb’

The exhibition will be open to the public from Tuesday 25th February to Friday 7th March, weekdays from 9am to 8pm.
