The Ministry of Equality, in collaboration with the Customer Care Hub, hosted an event promoting digital inclusion for persons aged 65 and over.

The event, which began with a short presentation by Customer Care Hub staff, aimed to introduce and familiarise attendees with the range of eGov services offered by HMGoG. Following the presentation, the floor was opened for a Q and A session. Attendees were also able to secure an immediate one-to-one appointment with a Customer Care Hub representative. This ensured that attendees were able to access the personalised support they needed to help them navigate the eGov services available. The event as a whole, aimed to empower older persons with the skills and confidence to understand and navigate eGov services more effectively.

Minister for Equality, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, said: “I am pleased to see that the Ministry of Equality has been able to respond quickly to some of the concerns raised by the first Age Symposium and that, in doing so, we have helped to reduce the digital barriers experienced by some older persons. Providing opportunities for older persons to learn in a setting that is specifically tailored for them is vital to reducing any digital gaps that may exist. I would like to thank the Customer Care Hub for collaborating with us in making this event a success.”
