Deputy Mayor, Mr Nicholas Guerrero, conferred the Freedom of the City of Gibraltar upon Sir Robert Neill. The conferment was moved by the Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, and was unanimously approved at the Session of Parliament held on 29th November 2024.

Deputy Mayor presented the Freedom Scroll to Sir Robert Neill at the ceremony which took place on 8th September 2025, at the Mayor’s Parlour, City Hall.

The ceremony was attended by His Excellency the Governor, Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst KCVO CBE, and by the Chief Minister, The Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, who delivered an address. Representatives and guests were also present at City Hall to witness this historic moment.

Following the ceremony, the Deputy Mayor hosted guests at a private reception at the City Hall.
