The Upper Rock Nature Reserve advises the public that the Med Steps have been temporarily closed with immediate effect due to significant safety concerns arising from the risk of further rock falls.

This precautionary measure follows a recent rock fall within the area, highlighting the potential danger to visitors using the route. In the interest of public safety, access to the Med Steps will remain prohibited until a full assessment has been carried out and any necessary mitigation works have been completed.

The safety of residents and visitors remains our highest priority. Specialists will be conducting inspections of the affected area to determine the extent of the risk and identify appropriate remedial measures before the route can be safely reopened.

Visitors to the Upper Rock Nature Reserve are urged to respect all closure notices, barriers, and signage in place and to use alternative designated routes during this period.
