Prince Edward’s Road – Temporary Traffic Arrangements for AquaGib Infrastructure Works

July 24, 2026

HM Government of Gibraltar advises the public that, in order to facilitate essential infrastructure works by AquaGib at Prince Edward’s Road (by Prince Edward’s Gate), the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented:

Effective from 10:00 on Monday 27 July 2026, for a period of up to five (5) weeks.

Traffic Arrangements

  • Northbound Access from Europa Road to Prince Edward’s Road Closure – The northbound section of Prince Edward’s Road from its junction with Europa Road to Prince Edward’s Gate will be closed to through traffic. All northbound vehicular traffic will be diverted via Main Street (South), King’s Yard Lane and Town Range, rejoining Prince Edward’s Road at the junction adjacent to Hargraves Parade.
  • Parking Suspension – On-street parking within the affected area will be temporarily suspended, as indicated by on-site information boards.
  • Pedestrian Access – Existing pedestrian routes will remain open and unaffected throughout the duration of the works.
  • Bus Services – Northbound Route 1 will be diverted via Main Street (South), King’s Yard Lane and Town Range before rejoining its normal route along Prince Edward’s Road. No bus stops will be affected during the works, and the Night Bus Service will continue to operate as normal.
  • Traffic Management – Temporary diversion and roadworks signage will be installed on all approaches to the works area. Traffic management operatives, including banksmen, will be positioned on site to ensure the safe and orderly movement of vehicles and pedestrians.

The public is advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as traffic delays may be expected.

HM Government of Gibraltar apologises for any inconvenience these essential infrastructure works may cause and thanks the public for their cooperation and understanding.
