Power Outage - 728/2019

GJBS and GibElec wish to apologise for the current power cut which has affected large areas of Gibraltar.
At about 1.30pm today, whilst excavation works were being carried out in the Midtown area, a GJBS worker drilled into an electric cable which resulted in a major power failure. Fortunately, no-one suffered any injury.
The relevant cable was originally laid by the MOD without the civilian authorities being advised and, as a result, the cable is not shown on any official plans. Work is now being carried out to remedy the situation as quickly as possible.
GJBS and GibElec apologise for all the inconvenience caused.
