OS 35 Update – clean-up works on beaches - 97/2023

P&I club contractors, monitored by GPA and Department of Environment staff, have been working to clean Eastern Beach, following the detection of tar balls resulting from the impact of last week’s bad weather on the OS 35.
The Captain of the Port and Gibraltar Port Authority continue to liaise closely with Spanish authorities in relation to reports of the detection of tar balls on the east side beaches of La Linea. The Captain of the Port has also passed the information on to the P&I club so that they are aware of the affected beaches in La Linea in order to offer any assistance they can to the Spanish authorities in respect of their clean-up efforts.
