Non-Permanent Qualified Teacher - Expression of interest - Registration

The Government of Gibraltar invites Qualified Teachers who would like to register as a Non-Permanent Qualified Teacher for the Department of Education from members of the public who hold the right of abode in Gibraltar (i.e. in possession of a Gibraltar Red ID Card).

  1. Individuals who wish to express their interest must possess a degree and have attained Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) under Department of Education (UK) regulations or have attained Gibraltar Qualified Teacher Status (GQTS) or be completing their training and attaining this status before 1 September 2026. Those applicants who have not obtained GQTS are reminded that this is also a requirement and should complete the online form at education.gov.gi.
  2. The salary for Non-Permanent Qualified Teacher is £31,165 pro rata.
  3. Application forms can be obtained below.
  4. Application forms, together with a coloured copy of the ID card, copies of qualification certificates and reference letters, should be submitted to the Department of Personnel & Development via email to education.recruitment@gibraltar.gov.gi by no later than Friday 17 April 2026.
  5. In addition to the above submissions, all individuals are required to fill in an online form which can be accessed via the following link: PLEASE CLICK HERE TO ACCESS FORM.
  6. Additionally, completed Royal Gibraltar Police vetting forms, along with copies of identification and proof of address, must be submitted with your application form by the closing date. For clarification on the RGP's requirements regarding acceptable documents, please refer to 'Section 4 – Proof of Identity' within the vetting form.
  7. All submissions will be reviewed, and applicants will be contacted accordingly. Interested individuals should note that those successful in registering on the supply list will be required to attend a collaborative induction session with the Department of Personnel and Development and the Department of Education prior to commencing employment. At this session, original qualification certificates will need to be provided.
  8. Please be aware that this process does not entitle you to employment. Instead, it allows you to be contracted should work become available. However, it should be noted that you must be on the supply list to be eligible to apply for permanent positions and fixed-term contracts that may arise within the Department of Education.
