MOT campaign continues - 379/2026

May 19, 2026

The initiative to ensure that all motor vehicles in Gibraltar have valid Road Worthiness Certificates (MOTs) and to remove abandoned vehicles continues, and moves now to the upper town. As previously stated, the Ministry of Transport is looking at a number of initiatives to alleviate parking and circulation issues in the area. This has been surveyed and a total of 53 vehicles on the public highway have been identified as having no MOT in the area of Calpe and Willis’s Road. It appears that some of these do not belong to residents of the area.

Owners are advised to check Road Worthiness Certificates and make the appropriate arrangements for testing. Alternatively, owners can request the vehicle to be disposed by submitting the following form:

Removal of vehicles without MOT will commence once again next week. Owners with MOT test appointments should display them clearly on their windscreen, and the vehicles will not be removed.

The Ministry of Transport continues its strategy of ensuring vehicle safety and clearing up valuable parking places on the public highway by inspecting areas across Gibraltar and taking the appropriate action with regards to derelict vehicles.
