The Ministry of Equality recently celebrated the completion of the seventh cycle of its Women’s Mentorship Programme with a closing event held at the Garrison Library. The event brought together mentors, mentees and supporters of the Programme to recognise the achievements of participants and the valuable partnerships formed throughout the cycle.
The Minister for Equality, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, welcomed attendees and congratulated the mentees who successfully completed the Programme. Certificates of participation were presented during the evening in recognition of their commitment to personal and professional development.
The Minister also thanked the mentors who volunteered their time and expertise, acknowledging the important role they play in supporting and encouraging women as they navigate different stages of their careers and personal aspirations.
Since its launch in 2018, the Women’s Mentorship Programme has connected dozens of women with experienced professionals from across Gibraltar’s public, private and voluntary sectors. The Programme seeks to empower women by fostering personal growth, developing leadership potential and expanding professional networks.
Open to all women over the age of 18 who are resident in Gibraltar, the Programme welcomes participants from all professional backgrounds, including those who are currently seeking employment, considering a career change or looking to progress within their chosen field.
The Minister for Equality, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, said: “The Women’s Mentorship Programme continues to demonstrate the positive impact that meaningful guidance, encouragement and support can have on an individual’s confidence and aspirations. What makes this initiative particularly special is the genuine connection that develops between mentors and mentees, often extending well beyond the duration of the Programme itself. I would like to sincerely thank every mentor who has contributed their time, experience and knowledge and congratulate this year’s mentees for embracing the opportunity with such enthusiasm and commitment. Their achievements are a reminder of the value of investing in people and creating opportunities for growth.”
