The Ministry of Equality is pleased to announce a new cycle of the Women’s Mentorship Programme for 2026. Since its inception in 2018, and with over 200 hundred participants, the Programme now enters its seventh cycle.
The aim of the Women’s Mentorship Programme is to support women’s professional progress through one-to-one mentorship opportunities and group learning sessions. Mentees’ skills will be developed so they can aspire to positions of leadership and management, areas where women are often under-represented.
A more equitable representation of women ensures greater diversity across organisations and sectors. This makes sound business sense as more diverse organisations and teams fare better than their less diverse counterparts. Allowing organisations to tap into a wider talent pool is also an important factor in boosting the economy.
The Women’s Mentorship Programme is open to women of 18 years of age or over who are resident in Gibraltar and who feel they would benefit from a mentor. The Ministry would like to encourage potential mentees to email equality.events@gibraltar.gov.gi to register interest. The deadline for completed applications is Friday 23rd January 2026.
Potential mentors are also encouraged to register their interest by sending an email to equality.events@gibraltar.gov.gi. Mentors will be volunteers with significant experience and expertise, who can offer advice and learning opportunities to mentees. Mentors must attend a mentor orientation meeting prior to their first mentoring session.
Minister for Equality, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, said: “I’m very pleased to launch this new cycle of the Women’s Mentorship Programme. The Programme is open to women at any stage of their careers and applications are invited from women working in the private, public sector or charity/NGO sector. The Programme is an opportunity to develop personal and professional skills and to build positive connections. I would like to encourage women who are looking for a new challenge to register as a mentee. I very much look forward to meeting the new cohort of mentees and mentors.”
