Ministers Santos and Arias-Vasquez Attend GastroClub Empresarial Event in Malaga - 845/2025

The Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, and the Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP, attended a GastroClub Empresarial event in Malaga on Friday at the invitation of the organisers.

Minister Santos delivered an address showcasing Gibraltar’s role as a bridge between the United Kingdom and the European Union, highlighting opportunities for collaboration with companies across key sectors such as financial services, technology, tourism, maritime logistics, and culture. He emphasised Gibraltar’s stability, legal certainty, digital economy, and skilled bilingual workforce, inviting participants to “look beyond the stereotype” and see Gibraltar as “a place where innovation, commerce and connectivity meet.”

Minister Arias-Vasquez spoke about the opportunities that the UK–EU Treaty will bring for Gibraltar and the wider Campo de Gibraltar area. She noted the treaty represents a moment of shared opportunity to strengthen prosperity and mobility on both sides of the border.

Both Ministers were warmly received by the organisers and participants, who expressed keen interest in strengthening commercial and cultural links with Gibraltar.

The Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP, said:

“Events such as the GastroClub Empresarial demonstrate the value of open dialogue and partnership. Gibraltar’s future success is tied to how we work together with our neighbours to build a dynamic, forward-looking region.”
