Following the launch of the second cycle of the Women’s Mentorship Programme earlier this week, the Ministry of Equality will be holding an information and networking event on Tuesday 28th May.
The event is open to all those interested in participating in the programme as either potential mentors and/or mentees. Attendees will be able to speak to members of the Department of Equality about the programme and will also have the opportunity to learn first-hand about the experiences of mentors and mentees who participated in the pilot cycle who will also be attending.
Anyone interested in registering for the programme and/or for the information and networking event should contact equality@gibraltar.gov.gi
The Minister for Equality, Samantha Sacramento MP, said: “I am excited that the Women’s Mentorship Programme will soon commence its second cycle. To date, the response has been very positive and I cannot wait for a new group of mentees to enjoy and benefit from this programme. A key indicator of the programme’s success is that a number of mentors from the pilot cycle have already committed to actively supporting the programme and give their time as mentors once again. I am extremely grateful for their selfless and ongoing contribution to the programme and I would like to encourage other experienced professionals to consider taking up a mentoring role. I am encouraged to see new mentors already sign up in the short period of time since the announcement.
“I would also like to strongly encourage any woman interested in seeking career advice or support to register her interest with us. The Women’s Mentorship Programme aims to develop women’s full potential and consequently enable them to aspire to positions of leadership and management more readily. I look forward to meeting potential mentors and mentees at our event on Tuesday 28th May.”
