Following news last week regarding the amended school calendar, which will now finish on the 30th June, the Minister for Sport, the Hon. Leslie Bruzon, has today announced the start dates for the Stay and Play and Summer Sports Programmes.
"I am glad to confirm that both schemes will commence on Monday 6th July with their usual timings and extensive programme of activities. More information will be available after the official launch on 8th June where the online information booklet will be published with all its usual news, including registration details.
In the meantime, GSLA staff will confirm information to parents of children enrolled in the Stay and Play Programme via the usual channels. I am informed that this has already started.
Additionally, Community Care Domiciliary Services Limited will be collaborating this year, playing a key role in the delivery of the Stay and Play Programme by providing carers to support the children attending. Their involvement will help ensure that children are able to participate fully in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. The carers will work closely with programme staff and children to provide personalised assistance where required. This partnership will strengthen the overall quality of care and support available within the Stay and Play Programme.
Finally, building on the success of previous years, PossAbilities will once again be supporting this year's Sports Train Programme through a collaborative partnership aimed at promoting inclusion and accessibility for all participants. Through this partnership, children who attend the Learning Support Facility (LSF) within schools and who require additional support will be given the opportunity to fully participate in the wide range of activities available. This continued partnership reflects a shared commitment to ensuring that all children, regardless of their individual needs or abilities, have equal access to enriching activities and opportunities within the Sports Train Programme"
