The Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, the Honourable Nigel Feetham KC MP, has held an initial introductory video call with the Honourable Dale Nally ECA, Minister of Service Alberta and Red Tape Reduction for the Province of Alberta, Canada.
The introduction between the two Ministers arose following Minister Feetham’s recent overseas engagements and international outreach efforts aimed at strengthening Gibraltar’s global relationships and exploring new opportunities for economic cooperation and trade.
During the meeting, both Ministers discussed areas of mutual interest between Gibraltar and Alberta, including innovation, economic diversification and opportunities for future collaboration between the two jurisdictions.
Minister Nally extended an invitation to Minister Feetham to visit Alberta to further explore potential trade and investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations. Whilst Minister Feetham is presently unable to undertake the visit due to existing commitments, he expressed his gratitude for the invitation and indicated his wish to visit Alberta at the earliest future opportunity.
As part of his extensive international engagement and travel, Minister Feetham continues to champion Gibraltar’s reputation as an innovative, agile and forward-looking jurisdiction, strengthening relationships and exploring opportunities that support economic diversification and long-term growth.
Minister Feetham said: “It was a pleasure to meet Minister Nally and begin what I hope will become a productive and constructive relationship between Gibraltar and Canada. Gibraltar continues to engage internationally with partners and jurisdictions that share our ambition for innovation, economic growth and modern regulation. I am grateful for the invitation to Alberta and look forward to continuing these discussions and exploring future opportunities for collaboration.”
