November 10, 2023

The GHA wishes to inform those eligible that the seasonal flu vaccine will only be available as a walk-in clinic until this coming Saturday 11th November. This vaccine is currently being administered at the Primary Care Centre, between 1pm and 4:30pm and from 5:00pm until 7:20pm until tomorrow Friday 10th November. As from Monday 13th November, service users will need to book an appointment by calling Telephone Number: 200 66966 between 12.00 hrs and 15.00 hrs.

The flu vaccine will be offered as a walk-in vaccination clinic between 9am and 3.50pm on Saturday 11th November at the Primary Care Centre and the GHA Mobile Health Unit will be deployed to Casemates Square from 10 am to 2pm also on Saturday 11th November where the flu vaccine will be provided. Saturday’s Walk-In Clinics slots will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis.

The seasonal flu vaccine is available to anyone aged over 50 years old, anyone with a long term health condition or anyone who has significant contact or caring responsibilities for someone with a long term health condition, pregnant women, health and care workers and anyone living long term in a residential care setting such as ERS. The children’s intranasal seasonal flu program is being delivered as usual through schools and anyone eligible who is over 12 years old can also attend the PCC walk in sessions.

The GHA Director General, Mr Kevin McGee OBE IPFA, said: “I strongly encourage those eligible to take up this last opportunity to be administered the Flu Vaccine as this vaccine will lower the risk of having serious illness from the seasonal flu. Furthermore, I need to inform that we will be soon receiving the COVID-19 vaccine which, in order to safeguard the general public, we have procured the latest vaccine with the most recent COVID-19 strain.  More information is to be announced shortly regarding the administration of this additional vaccine which will help stop COVID-19 spreading and thus protecting our community.”
