His Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar regrets to confirm that a fatal accident occurred in BGTW this afternoon onboard the Gibraltar-flagged bunker barge, Motortanker Nisyros.
The incident took place onboard as the vessel was manoeuvring to berth alongside a receiving vessel. The accident resulted in the death of a crew member.
The Royal Gibraltar Police and the Marine Accident Investigation Compliance Officer have been informed and investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently ongoing.
