Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministries of Tourism and Culture is delighted to announce a new series of activities as part of Gibraltar’s Heritage weekend.
The programme promises a rich and engaging celebration of Gibraltar's history and cultural heritage to include a commemorative ceremony held at the Moorish Castle to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day on Thursday 8th May.
GCS is coordinating an outdoor event on 9th May featuring GAMPA and JF Dance, as well as school tours on street art murals and the recently painted bollards. School pupils will also be given a ‘bollards template’ as an interactive exercise where they may create their own art/visuals.
The Gibraltar Heritage Trust is also putting together a series of historical tours from 8th to 11th May, which explore a variety of sites and periods of Gibraltar’s history. Tickets for these tours are already available on buytickets.gi. Additionally, displays and tours are also planned at the World War II Tunnels.
The Victorian Association, a collective of UK-based re-enactment societies with a shared passion for the Victorian era, will be visiting Gibraltar to take part in Heritage Weekend 2025. For this special occasion, the Victorian Association will be joined by the Gibraltar Re-enactment Association together with the Gibraltar Bands & Drum Association, coming together to create a truly memorable experience for all to enjoy
