Halloween & Midterm Cultural Programme Returns this October - 762/2026

October 08, 2026

Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS) is pleased to present its Halloween & Midterm Cultural Programme, offering a range of creative and cultural activities for both children and adults.

Young participants can kick off the Halloween fun on Saturday 24th October, 11am with a special Storytelling Session at the Mario Finlayson National Art Gallery, City Hall, as part of the Youth Saturday’s programme. Alongside the storytelling, there will be interactive art activities for children to enjoy.

The celebrations continue on 27th October, 11am, with a Children's Halloween Workshop at GEMA, led by artist Shane Dalmedo. Participants will get creative in a hands-on session making spooky puppets.

Adding to the family programme, Kitchen Studios will host two themed workshops on 28th October at the GEMA Gallery. A Lantern Workshop at 2pm is aimed at families offering a creative opportunity to craft unique decorations. At 5:30pm the group will host ‘A Murder Mystery’ Workshop to keep young detectives engaged. Tickets for these sessions from Gibkitchen.com.

On 29th October, a further Halloween Storytelling Session will take place at GEMA at 11am, with a themed goodie bag for every participant. Fancy dress is encouraged.

For adults, writer Jackie Anderson will lead a creative writing workshop at BookGem on 20th October from 6pm to 8pm encouraging participants to explore storytelling inspired by the season. Drawing inspiration from her first non-fiction book, Myth, Monster, Murderer, Jackie will share insights from her varied literary experiences while exploring key elements of creative writing, including structure, plot development, atmosphere, and character creation.

Rounding off the programme will be a Culture Crawl of the south end of Main Street on 29th October 6-8pm led by Dr Ryan Asquez and Davina Barbara. This will combine local history, heritage and street art, with participants discovering the darker and more mysterious side of this area of Town.
