Grey Seal Sighting - 150/2025

A Grey Seal has been sighted within Gibraltar harbour this morning. It appears to be the same individual that has been seen recently on the coasts west of Gibraltar, in Doñana and Conil.
The normal range of the species is Northern Europe and eastern North America, usually not further south than the Brittany Peninsula in France.
The public is asked not to approach the animal, which is probably stressed, and which should be allowed to go freely about its business. It is being closely monitored by the Department of the Environment’s Environmental Protection and Research Unit (EPRU). Any sightings can be reported to them on 58009620.
