Government Response to GSD Statement on Housing - 280/2019

The lift that the GSD are referring to has been out of service (Ground to First Floor only) since early December 2018, due to vandalism. The damage was so severe that a new ground floor landing door has had to be ordered by the Service Provider, even after several attempts by the Service Provider to make the necessary repairs to have the lift back in service.
On 5 occasions since December of last year, the second lift has been reported as being out of order. On each occasion, it has been repaired within the day.
There is also a 3rd and 4th lift that can potentially service the blocks (ie, Ironside House and George Don House as highlighted in the GSD press release), albeit some distance away from the blocks.
