Golden Week Christmas Card-Making Activities at ERS and Waterport Day Centre - 932/2025

December 04, 2025

This morning, on day three of Golden Week, the Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism hosted festive Christmas card-making activities at Elderly Residential Services and Waterport Day Centre.

At Mount Alvernia and Waterport Day Centre, residents and service users spent the morning designing and creating their own Christmas cards, supported by Minister Gemma Arias-Vasquez and Minister Christian Santos and their teams of ministry staff, who joined in the activities throughout the visits. Both Ministers engaged warmly with participants, assisting them with their card designs and sharing in the creative process.

To complement the activity, traditional Gibraltarian cakes freshly prepared by the Mount Alvernia catering team led by Ms MC Chini were delivered for everyone to enjoy. The homemade cakes were warmly received and formed an important part of the spirit of community and celebration that Golden Week aims to foster.

Cakes were also delivered separately by Ministry of Equality staff, spreading festive cheer to all elderly residential sites across Gibraltar.

The Ministry extends its sincere thanks to the Elderly Residential Services Activities and Catering Teams, Waterport Day Centre, Citizens Advice Bureau, both ministries and to all the staff involved for their continued commitment to supporting Gibraltar’s older community.

Golden Week continues with further activities designed to celebrate, honour and connect with our senior citizens.
