Gibraltar Tourist Board Welcomes Summer Students - 537/2026

July 07, 2026

The Gibraltar Tourist Board has welcomed 10 students who will be supporting its work across the tourism sector during the summer period.

The students will be carrying out a variety of roles across the tourism sector, helping to strengthen visitor services during one of the busiest periods of the year. Their placement will also provide them with valuable experience and insight into Gibraltar’s tourism industry, supporting their personal development and future career opportunities.

Most of the students will be undertaking the role of Visitor Engagement Officers, providing tourist information and assistance from key locations around Gibraltar with high visitor footfall. Their duties will include offering directions and practical visitor support, conducting tourist surveys on behalf of the Statistics Office, and encouraging photo opportunities for sharing across Visit Gibraltar’s digital platforms.

Other students will be supporting the digital marketing team with content creation, assisting with the promotion of Gibraltar as a destination through engaging content via Visit Gibraltar’s online platforms.

During their first week, the students undertook an extensive training programme to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to carry out their roles efficiently and professionally.

This week some of the students will be encouraging photo opportunities with the Gibraltar Tourist Board’s new 'I Love Gib' roaming sign which will be positioned at different locations around town. The GTB encourages anyone wanting to take a picture with the roaming 'I Love Gib' sign to visit the Facebook community page ‘I Love Gib’ to find out about the sign’s future locations.

The Gibraltar Tourist Board looks forward to working with the students throughout the summer and to the positive contribution they will make to Gibraltar’s visitor experience. The Gibraltar Tourist Board would also like to thank the Royal Gibraltar Police, Statistics Office and other parties that have supported the students’ training.

Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture and Tourism, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, said: “We are delighted to welcome these students to the Gibraltar Tourist Board for the summer period. Their involvement will provide valuable support across a number of important areas, from visitor engagement and tourist surveys to digital content creation and destination promotion."
