Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), on behalf of the Ministry of Culture, is pleased to reflect on another hugely successful summer of cultural engagement for children and families. This year’s programme was more popular than ever, with all events fully booked or sold out.
The first storytelling session, held at Commonwealth Park, welcomed around 30 children and set the tone for a summer filled with creativity and learning. GCS extends its heartfelt thanks to the dedicated team of volunteer storytellers who support these events throughout the year. Their commitment and belief in the power of reading continue to inspire a new generation of young readers through fun and educational experiences.
Workshops at the GEMA Gallery were especially well received, giving children hands-on opportunities to explore a variety of creative disciplines. Highlights included:
🎨 Neon painting with Kitchen Studios
🧘 Yoga and movement with Kationa Matto
🖌️ Imaginative sessions led by Emma Macdonald and Shane Dalmedo
Each workshop encouraged interaction and experimentation, with many children expressing a keen desire to return for more. GEMA continues to offer a range of self-led creative activities for all ages, inviting families to drop in and explore.
Whether it’s building a LEGO sculpture together or trying your hand at life drawing, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
