The Gibraltar College will be offering private candidates the opportunity to sit the TQUK Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics exam in March and in May of 2026. This will provide the community with an alternative Level 2 qualification to the GCSE Mathematics already on offer.

A pass in the Level 2 Functional Skills Mathematics qualification is widely considered equivalent to a GCSE Grade 4 (broadly equivalent to a C grade in the old grading system) and is recognised as such by many employers and further education establishments.

The exam consists of one two-hour paper (30 minutes non-calculator, 90 minutes calculator).

Registration for the first sitting of the exam on Friday 6th March 2026 is now open, with the window closing on Monday 2nd February 2026. The fee for the exam is £45 and registration is carried out via the Gibraltar College’s website on:
