The HM Government of Gibraltar advises the public that, to facilitate the dismantling of the existing tower crane at The Reserve development, the following traffic management measures will be implemented:
Closure Period:
From 06:00 hours on Saturday, 23 August 2025, until no later than 23:00 hours on Monday, 25 August 2025.
Traffic Arrangements:
Full Closure: Europa Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the former Casino site for the duration of the works.
Northbound Diversion: Traffic travelling northbound will be diverted via South Barrack Road at the junction by Shorthorn Farm Estate.
Southbound Diversion: Southbound traffic will be diverted via Rosia Road when approaching Trafalgar Interchange.
Bus Services: Routes 2, 3 and 7 will be subject to temporary diversions and the bus tracker will be unavailable during this time:
Route 2: Market Place – Europa Point will operate through the Eastern Side. Europa Point – Market Place: all stops serviced, with a single diversion via Schomberg.
Route 3: To South Pavilion, diverts along Red Sands Road, through Rosia and up to St Joseph’s.
Route 7: Route will commence from Mount Alvernia, continuing down via Schomberg, servicing Trafalgar (bottom), Convent Place, King’s Bastion, and Fish Market Steps bus stops. The route will continue through the Eastern Side back to Mount Alvernia.
Night Bus (N8): Both N8 buses will operate from Chatham via the Eastern Side. There will be no N8 (South) service.
Parking Restrictions: South Barrack Road from Gibtelecom premises up to Cancer Relief Centre will have parking spaces suspended for the duration of the works to allow for the safe transit of emergency vehicles to the South District.
Advance warning signs, as well as diversion signage, will be in place on all approaches to the affected area.
