A cross-party delegation from both Houses of the UK Parliament will visit Gibraltar for the 2026 National Day celebrations on 10 September.

The delegation is led by the Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group, Labour MP Amanda Martin.

This is the first National Day since the UK-EU Agreement in respect of Gibraltar entered into provisional application on 15 July. The visit will therefore give parliamentarians the opportunity to see for themselves how implementation is progressing on the ground, and to learn more about the treaty’s early effect.

The delegation comprises:

• Mr Martin Vickers MP (Conservative), Co-Vice-Chair of the APPG
• Dr Al Pinkerton MP (Liberal Democrats), Co-Vice-Chair of the APPG
• Mr Andrew Rosindell MP (Reform)
• The Baroness Butler-Sloss (Crossbench)
• The Lord Brady (Conservative)
• The Lord Rogan (Ulster Unionist Party)
• The Lord Bilimoria (Crossbench)

They will be joined by two Freemen of the City of Gibraltar, Sir Bob Neill KC and Mr Andrew Mackinlay.

During their working visit, the delegation will discuss the treaty and other matters with the Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP and the Deputy Chief Minister, the Hon Dr Joseph Garcia CMG MP, both of whom were involved in the detail of the negotiation.

They will have the opportunity for further interaction on economic and business issues with the Minister for Health, Care and Business, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez MP and the Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry, the Hon Nigel Feetham KC MP.

The visiting politicians will visit St Bernard’s Hospital and have the opportunity to view live telesurgery. This follows Gibraltar’s role in the UK’s first remote robot-assisted procedure in March, performed across 2,400km between London and Gibraltar, which drew substantial international media attention.

The parliamentarians will also visit the University of Gibraltar, sign the banner of the Self-Determination for Gibraltar Group, speak to business organisations and the Cross-Frontier Group, and join the National Day political rally at Casemates Square.

They will also pay a courtesy call on His Excellency the Governor Lt General Sir Ben Bathurst KCVO CBE.

The Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Garcia, said:
