As part of the Director of Public Health’s exit strategy, and as Gibraltar moves towards the next phase of pandemic response, the frequency at which COVID-19 statistics are reported will be reduced to weekdays only.
COVID-19 statistics will continue to be reported in the same way, Monday to Friday, and will reflect the situation on that day. Statistics will no longer be reported at weekends or on public holidays.
Minister for Civil Contingencies, the Hon Samantha Sacramento, said: ‘The daily reporting of COVID-19 statistics has been crucial to Gibraltar’s pandemic response, providing full transparency on Gibraltar’s COVID-19 situation as it develops on a daily basis. As Gibraltar begins to scale down the response operation in line with the Director of Public Health’s exit strategy, there is no longer an operational requirement to continue to report daily statistics at weekends and public holidays.
My sincere thanks to the teams of staff at all levels who have tirelessly worked to report accurate statistics, every single day for almost 2 years since March 2020. The Government will continue to report COVID-19 statistics as normal on working days.’
