Minister for Equality, Employment, Culture, Tourism and Youth, the Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, launched the ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’ Children’s Mental Health Art Exhibition 2025 at the GEMA Gallery last night.
Presented by the Gibraltar Youth Service, the Exhibition showcases artwork from young people across Gibraltar’s four youth clubs, offering a creative insight into their journeys of self-discovery, resilience and emotional growth. The Youth Service wishes to thank family and friends for their support at the opening of the event; agencies, NGOs, charities and government departments for their work with young people and collaboration, and Gibraltar Cultural Services for providing the space to show the exhibition.
Children’s Mental Health Week 2025 embraced the theme of ‘Know Yourself, Grow Yourself’ to highlight young people’s reflections on their mental well-being. The initiative draws inspiration from Disney’s ‘Inside Out’, using its portrayal of emotions as a foundation for understanding and expressing feelings. The Youth Service used this same theme for this year’s Cavalcade float.
The Minister for Youth commended the young artists for their incredible works of art which serve as a crucial reminder of the importance of mental health awareness. Minister Santos also praised the Youth Service for their unwavering support and guidance of young people, acknowledging the positive impact of youth work in Gibraltar.
The exhibition is open to the public at the GEMA Gallery from 11am - 3pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and from 11am - 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays until Monday 17th February.
