Chief Minister Visits Bob Peliza Mews and Chatham Views Sites - 928/2025

December 03, 2025

The Chief Minister today visited the two major affordable housing projects currently under construction: Bob Peliza Mews and Chatham Views. Mr Picardo was updated on progress at both sites by GJBS Managing Director Charles Savignon and HMGoG Chief Technical Officer Hector Montado.

At Bob Peliza Mews (Phase 1), the contractor’s programme indicates completion is expected in July 2026.

At Chatham Views, the contractor’s programme indicates completion is scheduled for February 2026.

The current programme follows three major developments of affordable homes already provided by this administration:

• Beach View Terraces – 564 homes delivered
• Mons Calpe Mews – 330 homes delivered
• Hassan Centenary Terraces – 665 homes delivered across two phases
• Charles Bruzon House provided an additional 73 affordable homes for pensioners

In total, these completed projects have delivered over 1,600 new homes to local families.

Bob Peliza Mews and Chatham Views will deliver a further 399 and 184 affordable homes respectively, bringing this total up to 583 homes. This represents the most extensive investment in affordable housing by any Government of Gibraltar, ever.

The Chief Minister, the Hon Fabian Picardo KC MP, said:
“Delivering affordable housing at this unprecedented scale has been one of our biggest commitments to the people of Gibraltar. Seeing the progress first-hand today reinforces the importance of this programme and the positive impact these new homes will have for hundreds of families. With Beach View Terraces, Mons Calpe Mews and Hassan Centenary Terraces already delivered, the completion of Bob Peliza Mews and Chatham Views will round off the most ambitious affordable housing programme Gibraltar has ever undertaken. I want to thank everyone working across these sites for their continued dedication and look forward to beginning handing over keys to homeowners in the New Year.”
