HM Government of Gibraltar advises that changes have been made at the frontier in relation to the vehicular exit into Spain. As from Friday 9 October 2026 at 00:00, traffic will be able to exit directly via two lanes without having to use the existing frontier loop.

The frontier loop will however remain in place and will normally be closed off using moveable barriers. This provides additional flexibility during periods of heavy traffic. GPMSL operatives will be able to quickly adjust the traffic management arrangements, reopening the loop and utilising the additional road space to increase capacity when required.

Motorists are asked to follow all temporary road markings and directional signage, as well as adhere to the instructions of GPMSL officers when the arrangements change.
