The Care Agency’s Events and Fundraising Committee has successfully raised funds to support Father Charlie Azzopardi’s Soup Kitchen, reaffirming its commitment to this vital service and the invaluable work it does throughout the year.
The Soup Kitchen, run by St. Theresa’s Parish, plays a crucial role in providing meals to vulnerable members of our community. The Care Agency is proud to maintain its ongoing support for this initiative, as it has done in previous years.
A spokesperson for the Care Agency, said: “We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the community, our staff, and the ongoing support received from Jagrathi Yoga and Holistic Services in our fundraising efforts. The funds raised will assist Father Charlie and his dedicated team in continuing their invaluable work. Collaborating with the Soup Kitchen has always been a priority for us, as we remain committed to helping those most in need.”
This year, the total amount raised stands at £1,480, with contributions from the community and a generous donation of £60 from EROSKI Gibraltar, who have continued their support for this cause as in previous years.
The Care Agency wishes to thank its staff, community contributors, and all those who participated in this year’s fundraising efforts. The Agency remains committed to supporting local initiatives aimed at helping the most vulnerable members of Gibraltar’s community and wider causes, such as the Valencia Appeal, which earlier this year raised over £5,000 for the relief effort.
The Minister for Health and Care, the Hon Gemma Arias-Vasquez, praised the Care Agency’s efforts, stating: “The work done by Father Charlie’s Soup Kitchen is indispensable, providing vital support to individuals and families who rely on its services throughout the year. Efforts like these are especially meaningful during the Christmas season, a time when many face additional challenges. I commend the staff at the Care Agency for their dedication and commitment to supporting such an important cause.”
