The annual Poetry Competition, organised by Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS) and the Gibraltar Chronicle, attracted a total of 252 entries.
The awards were presented by the Minister for Culture, The Hon Christian Santos GMD MP, on Wednesday 10th December 2025 at 5pm at BOOKgem.
The winners are as follows:
Overall Winner (£1000): Alfred Gerada – ‘Te Pierdo Twice’
Adult Category
• Winner (£500): Kate Julianne Williamson – ‘Delivered Ten Years Ago’
• Runner Up: Tessa Rosado–Standen – ‘If I Spent More Time With My Two Year Old’

Best Spanish Poem (£500): Bryley Anne Mor – ‘Cadenas Invisibles’

• Winner: Jude James Everard – ‘Behind the Scenes’
• Runner Up: Daisy Moir – ‘Fields’

School Years 8–10
• Winner: Danielle Shamir – ‘Tour Of The Mind’
• Runner Up: Javier Oriol Holliday – ‘What Kind of God?’
• Highly Commended: Amelia Agudo Montero – ‘The Mint That Changed Everything’
School Years 6–7
• Winner: Matthew Scott – ‘The Name of War’
• Runner Up: Ella Jarvis – ‘A Night Where Dreams Belong’
• Highly Commended: Gisele Walley – ‘My Little Place’
School Years 4–5
• Winner: Alba Morales Llufrio – ‘Growing Up Too Fast’
• Runner Up: Leo Perez – ‘Sunshine’
• Highly Commended: Amelia Gordon – ‘Honey the Bunny’

The Gibraltar Chronicle kindly donated a three-month online subscription to the Overall Winner, as well as vouchers and pens for the winners of the school categories.
