Further to Recommendation 5 made by Sir Peter Openshaw in his Report in the Inquiry into the Retirement of the Former Commissioner of Police dated 6 November 2025, the Attorney General has published a "Protocol on the Roles of His Majesty's Attorney General for Gibraltar", agreed and signed by both the Attorney General and the Director of Public Prosecutions, providing guidance on how the Attorney General should act where potential conflict may arise in the performance and discharge of the various roles and responsibilities discharged by the Attorney General in Gibraltar.
