The Gibraltar National Museum

The Gibraltar National Museum, located within the historical heart of Gibraltar is a national museum of history, culture and natural history.
Founded on 23 July 1930 by the then Governor of Gibraltar General Sir Alexander Godley, the Museum houses an array of galleries and exhibits representing the Rock's millennia-old history and the unique culture of the Gibraltarians. Sir Alexander carefully selected two adjacent military quarters to house the Museum. One of the buildings, Ordnance House, was the official residence of the Principal Artillery Officer and beneath it lay the chambers of an ancient bath house dating from Gibraltar's Moorish period.
