Interreg IIIB  - South West (SUDOE) Europe Programme

The participating Member States are Spain, France (Aquitaine, Auvegne, Languedoc-Roussilon, Limousin, Midi-Pyrenes and Potiou Charentes), Portugal and the United Kingdom (Gibraltar).

            1. Objectives – These are:  territorial development and urban systems; development of economic, social and cultural links, transport links and information society; heritage and the environment.

       2. Financing – The co-financing available from the EU under the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) for this Programme for the period 2000-2006 is €110 million (£68 million).  Gibraltar’s allocation for the Programme is some €0.85 million (£0.26 million).  Of this total, €0.42 (£0.26 million is provided for by ERDF and a further €0.42 million (£0.26 million) is provided by the Government of Gibraltar.  (Using an exchange rate of £1 = €1.62).  The Programme does not include any private sector contributions, any funds levered-into the Programme would be additional to the public contribution.
