• The provision of Civil Engineering services to all Government Departments including the preparation of designs, specifications, contract documents and details for refurbishment and for all new Government capital works including new sewerage works, new highways, retaining walls, coastal defence works and rock-fall protection measures.

• The preparation and organisation of works programmes and the project management of contracts.

• Advising the Building Control Section on Building Applications with regard to civil engineering matters.
