Nynex Communications Limited is a joint venture company owned jointly by the Government of
Gibraltar and the American Telecommunications Company Bell Atlantic. The company was
formed on the 8th May 1990 and is responsible for the provision of local telephone
service, customer premises equipment, international private leased circuits and
international service to Spain. Prior to the formation of the joint venture Company in
1990, Government provided the local telephone service. GNC has invested heavily in
infrastructure and has commissioned a fibre-optic network that covers the key areas of
Gibraltar, with ready-to-serve telephone service, as well as high capacity circuits.
GNC offers a wide range of Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) which ranges from basic
equipment like Fax machines and Payphones to large PBX's with all their ancillary
equipment.

GNC Networks Ltd have been providing Internet services in Gibraltar since September
1997. Gibraltar Nynex Communications limited wholly owns the company.
Our Internet platform has been set up with a view to providing internet access to
Gibraltar as a whole, but always bearing in mind the demanding needs of the growing
business community. For this reason we contracted the services of UUNET a leading Internet
provider in Europe who have helped us to provide a very resilient set-up.
